The order of DOPT stating that the government has yet to formulate guidelines on allowing HIGHER INCREMENT @4% to high performers among Sr AOs not exceeding 20% of strength of the Cadre may please be gone through.

Dearness Allowance falls due @ 27% w.e.f. 1-7-2009 meaning an increase of 5% over the existing 22%

The DEARNESS ALLOWANCE that is payable to Central Employees will be @ 27% with effect from 1-7-2009 as the 12 monthly AICPI(IW) stands at 147.66 provided the CPIndex for JUNE 2009 stands at the levels recorded for any of the months preceeding 11 months { the CPI from 7/08 to 5/09 oscilated between 143 and 151}.

The CPI stood at 143 [for7/08], 145 [for8/08], 146 [for 9/08], 148 [for 10/08, 11/08, 12/08, 1/09, 3/09], 149 [for 2/09] , 150 [for 4/09 ] and 151 [for 5/09].

The calculation is made in accordance with the FORMULA recommended by the 6CPC [or SCPC or VI-CPC].

Now CGHS beneficiaries can claim reimbursement of medical expenses incurred at empanelled institution on the advise of any Govt Doctor (not just CGHS)

Rates of CGHS recoveries enhanced w.e.f. JUNE 2009

The Govt has revised the rates of recoveries towards CGHS w.e.f. JUNE 2009 as under.
@ Rs. 50 for Grade Pay of Rs. 1650
@ Rs. 125 for Grade Pay of Rs.1800 to 2800
@ Rs. 225 for Grade Pay of Rs. 4200
@ Rs. 325 for Grade Pay of Rs 4600 to 6600
@ Rs. 500 for Grade Pay of Rs. 7600 and above

It also changed the entitlement for Accommodation, diet, etc..

GOOD NEWS to LTC availers - Encashment of EL and Entitlement of Fares

The D.O.P.T. issued orders today 3-6-2009 allowing ENCASHMENT of E.L. not exceeding 10 days to those Govt Servants who avail LTC , de-linking to the actual availment to that extent w.e.f. 3-6-2009. Thus a Govt servant availing LTC on CL or other kind of leave including EL for what so ever length of period he/she may avail such leave, will be able to get encashment of 10 days EL.

FURTHER, the DOPT also issued orders revoking the orders dated 10-11-2008 that restricted the AIR FARE and restored the orders dated 23-9-2008 which allows ECONOMY CLASS air fare subject to the fares offered by NACIL(Air India) under their New LTC Scheme for Business Class. ACRs now become APAR [Annual Performance Appraisal Report] and disclosable to the official reported upon.

Hitherto, only the adverse remarks made in the ACRs [Annual Confidential Reports] were required to be communicated to the official reported up on.
The Govt in recognition of the TRANSPARENCY POLICY coupled with the Supreme Court's judgement has now issued orders to the effect that the ACR[Annual Confidential Report] now onwards (2008-09) are renamed as APAR (Annual Performance Appraisal Report) and the same shall be shown to the official concerned by the APAR accepting authority i.e. Sr.A.O(Admn) in r/o all cadres upto Sr Accountants/Sr Auditor like wise SrDAG (Admn) shall disclose the APAR to SO/AAO and AG does for AOs/SrAOs.
This measure in my view certainly instills additional responsibility in the REPORTING OFFICER and REVIWING OFFICER while making his observations about an official whose self appraisal they are supposed to assess vis-a-vis his own.
